Code Meets Peotry

Finding the perfect image to express a nuanced idea is rarely easy. While writing a post exploring the poetic nature of code, I struggled to find visuals that truly resonated. Stock image sites and search engines offered little more than clichés. So I turned to Sora — a space where imagination and AI collide — hoping it could translate this abstract concept into art.

Below is the very first prompt I gave to Sora. The results were striking — a surreal blend of logic and lyricism, code and calligraphy.

Surreal artistic composition showing lines of code transforming into Arabic poetry verses. Digital text dissolving into flowing calligraphy. A human brain with circuit patterns merging with poetic metaphors like butterflies, flowing water, and musical notes. Soft blue and purple gradients representing the digital realm blending with warm golden tones for the poetic/emotional elements. Code syntax highlighting colors (green, blue, orange) transitioning into ink flowing like poetry. Abstract representation of order and creativity harmonizing.

Interestingly, I hadn’t included any Arabic in the original prompt — and while Sora did try to generate some, it ended up being unreadable. So I refined my approach, this time embedding a real Arabic verse to be rendered clearly in the final image.

The updated prompt: a split scene — programming code on the left, Arabic poetry on the right. In the middle, a brain anchors the transition, etched with circuitry and neural patterns. On the code side, cool blue hues frame snippets like calculateSum(), var int x = result;, and return result;, lit in familiar syntax highlights. On the poetic side, warm golden gradients give life to the verse:

"هي الضرورة والرؤيا معطلة كأي معنى تشظى في تردده"

Artistic digital illustration: Programming code on the left side transforming into Arabic poetry on the right. Human brain in the center with circuit patterns and neural networks. Left side shows blue-toned code with programming functions like "calculateSum()", "var int x = result;", "return result;" in syntax highlighting colors. Right side displays flowing Arabic calligraphy in warm golden colors with this exact text: "هي الضرورة والرؤيا معطلة كأي معنى تشظى في تردده" - ensure the Arabic text is clear, readable, and flows elegantly from right to left. The brain bridges both worlds, showing circuit patterns merging with poetic elements like butterflies and musical notes. Cool digital blues and cyans on the coding side transitioning to warm amber and golden tones on the poetry side. Split composition representing the harmony between logic and creativity, programming and poetry. High resolution, contemplative mood, modern digital art style.

The result is a visual metaphor: a brain bridging logic and lyricism, code and contemplation. The artwork reflects a harmony that rarely exists in code editors — yet always exists in our imaginations.

I also experimented with slight variations on the prompt to see how Sora would interpret the balance differently. Here’s one of the more refined outputs:
